Q&A
What symptoms or concerns do you address?
We’re here to help with any physical or mental discomfort you may have. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us with your concerns, and we’ll address any questions or uncertainties you may have after the consultation.
Is there a consultation fee?
Consultation fees vary depending on the attending doctor and consultation method. For more information, please check the “1. Reservation” section on this page.
What is the price of herbal medicine?
We offer personalized treatment plans based on symptoms, convenience, and budget. The cost of decoction medicine (customized herbal medicine tailored to individual body needs) ranges from approximately ¥1,100 to ¥1,400 per day, while herbal preparations (granules, tablets, pills, etc.) are priced at around ¥300 to ¥600 per day for a single type. Depending on the patient’s condition, we may recommend combining multiple medications for enhanced therapeutic effects.
Is herbal medicine covered by insurance?
As we are not a dispensing pharmacy, herbal medicine is not covered by insurance. Please note that all costs are self-pay. However, for those resident in Japan, medical expense deductions may apply for medicines used in the treatment of illnesses. For detailed application procedures, please visit the National Tax Agency’s website.
How long does it take for symptoms or concerns to improve?
Improvement timeframes vary depending on individual body conditions and the nature of the ailment or concern.
Acute conditions like colds, acute sinusitis, and acute bronchitis may see improvement within several days to a week.
Chronic conditions such as infertility, eczema, asthma, and acne may require several months to half a year or even a year for improvement.
We offer support not only through herbal prescriptions but also by reviewing necessary lifestyle changes and providing dietary guidance. Let’s work together to plan based on the degree of improvement while discussing any symptoms or concerns.
Can I return the products?
For safety and hygiene reasons regarding medicinal products, returns of dispensed herbal medicine (both decoction and herbal preparations) are not accepted.
Are there any side effects?
Herbal medicine is sourced from natural origins like plants, minerals, and animals, processed and dried. Therefore, it typically carries fewer side effects compared to chemically synthesized drugs.
However, similar to any medication, herbal remedies may lead to side effects such as nausea, decreased appetite, diarrhea, liver or kidney dysfunction, drug rash, pseudohyperaldosteronism, myopathy, hypokalemia, etc. Additionally, some individuals may experience a healing crisis, which can sometimes be mistaken for side effects. While the healing crisis generally indicates positive responses in the body, distinguishing them from side effects can be challenging. Hence, it is recommended to seek comprehensive consultation with an experienced herbal specialist.
Is it possible to use herbal medicine alongside Western medication?
Since many herbal medicines and Western medications target different pathways, concurrent use is often feasible. However, there are cases where certain medications may not be compatible. Please notify us in advance if you are taking any medication or have encountered side effects from medication. We will suggest an appropriate prescription accordingly.
Can children take herbal medicine?
Certain herbal medicines are suitable for children. For further information, please feel free to inquire.
Can herbal medicine be taken during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?
While certain herbal medicines are safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding, there are others to avoid. It’s crucial to consult with an experienced herbal specialist to ensure the safety of any herbal treatment during this period.
What about the safety and hygiene of herbal medicine?
We source our herbal medicine from reputable domestic manufacturers in Japan, including “Uchida Wakanyaku,” “Tochimoto Tenkaido,” “Takasago Yakugyo,” “Iskra Sangyo,” and “Kracie Pharmaceuticals.” We refrain from direct imports from overseas to maintain the highest quality standards. All our products undergo rigorous testing and adhere to strict quality standards, ensuring their safety and effectiveness.
Please use our products with confidence.
